Celebrating a year of leadership development in Hull & East Yorkshire

This week marked the final event of our HEY100 programme for leaders working across Hull and East Yorkshire’s voluntary, cultural and social sectors. Spanning over 2018, this intensive initiative has seen leaders of all levels - from new managers to trustees and community champions - come together and build their leadership abilities to advance social change in the region. They have been stretched, challenged, and empowered, and have demonstrated that leadership development can extend beyond the individual, and translate into wide, durable change across organisations and sectors.

With an inspiring and thought-provoking talk from Eve Poole on Leadersmithing, the celebration event acknowledged the value of innovative approaches to leadership and celebrated the dedication, collaboration, and progress shown by everyone involved.

Commenting on the HEY100 journey, Clore Social’s Director of Programmes & Leadership Innovation Louise Drake said: 'Unlocking the potential of over 100 leaders in Hull and East Yorkshire has been inspiring. The generosity of everyone to share knowledge, skills and resources with the openness for collaboration and the determination to do better and be better has been phenomenal. It feels like this is just the start of something magic and it is all because of the vision and willingness to 'give it a go' by the people of Hull and East Yorkshire.'

We are delighted to have been part of this and would like to congratulate everyone involved. Have a look below to see some pictures from the event.

Here's what past participants had to say:

‘My confidence was very low at the beginning of the programme, since starting the programme I have grown massively as a leader in my organisation.
‘This programme provided me with a brilliant opportunity to rethink the way I work and the leadership opportunities and challenges I was facing. It gave me the chance to collaborate with some of the brightest minds from my sector and I feel I have become a confident leader as a result.”
